How Leja Thinks About Making Money
The Core Principle
Leja does not charge for software features. Leja charges for witnessed events. Every transaction confirmed through Leja is a witnessed event. Every witnessed event has value — to the parties involved, to the Trust Graph, and to the institutional consumers of that data. The revenue model reflects this.Why Transaction-First
The old model asked: “How do we get 22 agencies to pay ₦25,000/month?” The new model asks: “How do we get 10,000 agents to process 3 transactions each per month?” 10,000 agents × 3 transactions × ₦200 average = ₦6,000,000/month from transaction fees alone. This is achievable because:- Nigeria has 100,000+ property agents (formal and informal)
- Leja is free to start using — pay per transaction, not per month
- The transaction fee is invisible to the agent’s client — it is a cost of doing business
- Every agent who uses Leja once for a professional receipt will use it again

What Leja Does NOT Charge For
Leja never charges for:- Receiving a RIN (it is permanent and belongs to the person)
- Viewing your own Trust Graph
- Receiving a receipt link (tenant access is always free)
- Claiming your Resident after your landlord’s agent used Leja Professional
- Balance-sheet lending (referral only — always)
- Charging for data that was contributed by the user themselves
- Retroactive pricing changes that affect existing records
