What the Service Marketplace Is

The service marketplace in Leja connects residents who need property and home services with verified service providers. Every completed job updates both parties’ permanent Trust Graph. Providers accumulate a real work record. Residents accumulate a record of how they treat the people they hire. This is not a simple directory. It is a trust-native marketplace where every transaction leaves a witnessed record on both sides.

For Service Providers: Building Your Work Record

A service provider on Leja builds Track 2, their permanent professional identity as a worker in the residential economy. What you bring to the marketplace:
  • Verified identity via government ID (required before accepting any job)
  • Your service categories and operating areas at Local Government Area level
  • Your availability status (active, on leave, or not taking new clients)
  • Certifications where applicable (electrician boards, COREN, NIOB, and others)
  • Your profile, shareable by link
What every completed job adds to your record:
  • Job category and completion status
  • Client rating (1 to 5 stars plus optional written review)
  • Response time from request to acceptance
  • Completion time from acceptance to confirmed finish
  • Payment receipt confirmation
  • Repeat hire signal: did this client book you again?
Your public profile shows:
  • Total jobs completed and breakdown by category
  • Overall rating and per-category rating
  • Repeat hire rate (the strongest signal of real quality)
  • Income trend shown as a pattern, not an exact figure
  • Client feedback summaries
What clients see before hiring you (with your consent):
  • Your verification tier
  • Your rating and repeat hire rate
  • Your experience in the specific service category they need
  • Whether you have worked on similar property types before

For Residents: Requesting a Service

How to request a service:
  1. Select the service category and describe the job
  2. Confirm your location at Local Government Area level
  3. Review matched providers based on trust compatibility, not just proximity
  4. Send the request. Providers can accept or decline before seeing your exact address.
  5. Once accepted, confirm the appointment time and address
  6. After the job is complete, confirm completion and leave a rating
What you see before choosing a provider:
  • Their verification tier
  • Their rating and number of completed jobs in this category
  • How often their clients hire them again
  • Response time history
Your address is protected: It is only revealed to a provider after they accept your specific job request. Providers browse and match on category, area, and trust signals, not on a list of home addresses.

How the Trust Matching Works

Any directory can match on proximity and price. Leja matches on trust. Beyond proximity and price, Leja surfaces:
  • Trust tier compatibility: a Gold-tier resident matched with Gold-tier providers
  • Behavioral compatibility: does this provider’s typical client profile match this requester’s history?
  • Property context: has this provider worked on this type of property and maintenance category before?
  • Payment reliability: the requester’s payment timeliness to past providers is surfaced before acceptance
  • Repeat hire signal: if these two parties have worked together before and it went well, that surfaces first
Inclusion: Trust matching does not exclude lower-tier users. Bronze-tier providers and requesters are matched at their tier. The system does not optimise only for top-tier transactions. It serves every level of the market.

How Both Sides Are Held Accountable

Witnessing works in both directions. A service provider who shows up late, does poor work, or abandons a job accumulates that record. Future clients see it. A resident who pays late, fails to show up for a scheduled service, or creates unnecessary disputes accumulates that record too. Good providers see it before accepting. A serious, respectful client builds a reputation that makes the best providers want to work with them. After every completed job:

Why It Matters

Before Leja, every service hire started with zero information. A plumber arrived with no verifiable history. A resident paid with no record that they paid. A good provider had no way to prove ten years of excellent work. A bad requester could mistreat workers with no accountability. After Leja, every party arrives with a track record. The provider’s history speaks before they say a word. The resident’s reliability is known before the provider accepts. The entire market gets better for both sides, not by enforcing rules, but by making every interaction leave a permanent witness.
